Celebrating Maya Angelou's 96th Birthday!
Celebrate! Maya Project
10–Year Anniversary
2024 marks 10 years since the death of Dr. Maya Angelou, and 10 years since a small group of Arkansas women came together to create a “Day of Remembrance,” in honor of Dr. Angelou’s life, and in Stamps, Arkansas—her childhood home. This year, Celebrate! Maya Project is celebrating its 10-year anniversary as well as its annual celebration of Dr. Angelou’s birthday in April.
Who we are
Celebrate! Maya Project
The Celebrate! Maya Project promotes the life, contributions, and history of Dr. Maya Angelou through our work with children and communities of Arkansas. We seek ways to educate, advocate, and promote literacy and humanities by teaching the history of literary icon, Maya Angelou. We seek partnerships with Arkansas schools, communities, and nonprofit organizations to help bring this legend to life.
Thank You, Northwest Arkansas…
